Responsibilities:
Participates in the day-to-day operations of the Pottawatomie County Jail in order to assure the welfare of inmates.
Responsibilities include booking & releasing offenders, maintaining security of the facility, and escorting offenders.
Additional responsibilities include supervising work release programs, dispense medications, effectively manage volatile and violent offenders, and complete a number of clerical duties.
Special Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Applicants must not have a felony conviction or dishonorably discharged from any branch of the military, or have a background that shows disrespect for the law enforcement profession.
Applicants must also successfully pass a physical agility, written and physiological exam, and possess strong communications skills, integrity, morality and enthusiasm.
Previous experience strongly preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
